This dental office, ROCKS!!! From the moment you walk in, you get stellar service! Front desk, insurance handler, dental assistants, dental hygienists/Clarissa, and of course my DDS- Dr John Dong are ALL EXCEPTIONAL 🤩💯 Everything is thoroughly explained to you whether its a routine cleaning, dental plan and/ or dental issues- time is taken to properly explain to us patients & THAT keeps us returning 😇!!! Dental procedures are NOT fun, so the care this team gives you is much needed + they offer different pymt options to fit everyone's budget👍 Thank you, Comfort Dental, for ALWAYS giving me an awesome experience 💖- very much appreciated 👏 💐
I had an extremely disappointing experience with this office, and unfortunately it wasn’t just one isolated incident, it was a pattern of poor communication and customer service. During a routine cleaning, the dentist noticed a growth on my tongue. He told me it was probably nothing to worry about, but that it could potentially be cancer and that he would document it and provide a referral to an oral surgeon. As you can imagine, that was a stressful conversation. When I later called to get the referral, I was told there was no record of the dentist mentioning the growth. After multiple phone calls and back-and-forth with the office, I eventually received a referral—but it was to a specialist who didn’t accept my insurance. I found an in-network oral surgeon myself and asked if they could send the referral there. I was repeatedly told they couldn’t or that “that’s just not how we do things.” Because I was anxious about the possibility of oral cancer, I ended up paying out of pocket to see the original specialist rather than continuing to wait. A few months later I returned to have a cavity filled and brought the referral issue up directly with the dentist. I still couldn’t get a clear answer. On top of that, what should have been a straightforward filling turned into nearly a three-hour appointment because the office appeared to be overbooked. While delays happen, the communication throughout the visit was poor. After the procedure, the front desk told me to wait in the lobby because the dentist was supposedly going to come speak with me. I waited around 30 minutes before the dentist eventually walked out and asked why I was still there. When I explained that I had been told to wait for him, he said no one had told him anything. That was the point where I decided I would no longer return. After switching to a new dentist, I ran into yet another issue. My new office requested my X-rays, and I was told I needed to sign a records release, which is perfectly reasonable. However, when I called to complete the process, I asked if they could simply send the records directly to my new dentist after I signed the release. They refused and cited HIPAA. From my understanding, HIPAA allows providers to share records for treatment purposes, so this felt like unnecessary resistance rather than a legal limitation. Everyone can have an occasional bad day, but after multiple visits I consistently experienced poor communication, disorganization, and a lack of follow-through. The dental work itself was acceptable, but the customer service was frustrating enough that I cannot recommend this office.
I had a great experience with Dr. Mark McCormick and his assistant. They took the time to go over my X-rays with me and explained everything clearly. They were kind patient and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. I highly recommend this office
Avoid the Comfort Dental Gold Plan – Richardson Location Bait-and-Switch Do not sign up for the Comfort Dental Gold Plan at the Richardson location. It is a complete financial trap. They heavily market this plan by promising "two professional cleanings per year" included at no charge. However, once they get you locked into a mandatory 12-month contract, they completely change the rules. I went in for my standard routine cleaning, and instead of giving me the service I paid for, they refused to do it. They claimed I needed a "deep cleaning" instead, which is not covered, and demanded over $380 out of pocket. On top of that, they tacked on a $35 "office visit fee" just for walking through the door. When I realized this was an aggressive corporate upsell and tried to cancel the membership, management completely refused to let me out of the contract, stating I am forced to pay them for the full year even though they are refusing to provide the standard cleanings advertised. This is a textbook bait-and-switch. They lure you in with the promise of free cleanings, deny the service once you are in the chair to force a massive upsell, and then use the fine print of the contract to hold your wallet hostage. Take your business to an honest, independent private dentist in Richardson who won't treat you like a sales quota.
I have used Dr. McCormack for several years and have been very pleased. He takes time to check insurance details so I can make appropriate decisions. He takes time to give me details of any treatment plans I may need to consider. I highly recommend this dental office. The extended hours can be helpful for those who work or have school age children.
